Thanks for stopping through to show me some love! I’m Courtney, and I guess you could say there’s many parts to the making of me. I’m a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend and a pretty tough Spades opponent. But most of all I’m a lover of Jesus Christ! What this means is I’ve trusted Him to be my perfection when it comes to pleasing God. I’ve come to know that my efforts in and of themselves will never measure up to His perfect standards. To take care of my short comings, Christ covers them all! This reality informs the way I live in every possible way. I’m grateful to know and be known by God!
Like I mentioned earlier, I’m the head over heels wife of Curtis, to whom I provide a daily soundtrack of my corny comedic relief. An added bonus is I get to be the proud homeschool momma to three beautiful and crazy children and one pretty feisty soon to be toddler (lol). You may sometimes hear me lovingly refer to them as “My Little Rabbits”.
As I was starting my homeschool journey, I did all the typical things any new homeschooling mom would do. I searched every homeschool related blog, browsed Pinterest for unique craft ideas, and watched a TON of YouTube videos for tips. This was very useful at times. But then there were days in which I felt overwhelmed and unsure of myself. I’d sometimes compare our homeschool life to others. At times, my insecurities have gotten the best of me and turned me into either an intimidated onlooker or a boastful momzilla. The funny thing is I’ve had so many conversations with other moms who’ve experienced the same thing.
Because of this, I believe there’s a need for more down-to-earth online spaces in which moms like you and me can explore the in’s and out’s of homeschooling free from competition yet rich with encouragement. I’m hoping to do that through this blog! The goal is to give you a tiny peek inside our homeschool life along the way.
The name of this page is inspired by these verses from 2 Timothy:
“A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth” (2 Timothy 2:24-25).
Together, we can experience the good, the bad and the sometimes cranky of this homeschool journey. So, if you’re motivated beyond the messiness I encourage you to come along for the ride!
Of course, I can’t promise that every now and then non-homeschool-related blogs won’t slip in. Like for instance, did I mention I’m on the adventure of a lifetime as I work to publish my first children’s book? Don’t worry, you’ll be hearing a lot more about The Rumble Hunters soon enough later this year! But until then, I would love for this blog to be a breath of fresh air for anyone who passes by. And one thing I CAN promise is it will be a good time for all!
